More commonly known today as Government House, and the official residence of Queensland’s Governor.

The extensive grounds include remnant bushland and a natural pond that extends under Baroona Road into Norman Buchan Park. The house was built for Johann Christian Heussler in 1865. Its name means ‘distant mountain’ in German.
